Silver Anniversary Wine Tasting - March 30th 1-4PM!
Clara Vie Brut Rose Cremant de Limoux - This handcrafted cuvee is made from old vines growing close to the Mediterranean Sea in the Southwest of France. A delicious brut Rose composed of 70% Chardonnay, 12% Chenin Blanc, 10% Mauzac, and 8% Pinot Noir, delivering graceful bubbles, vibrant red fruit and lush floral aromas. On the palate, Clara Vie is so pleasing: round and pure in its fruit, with an invigorating, cleansing finish.
Middle-Earth Sauvignon Blanc - On what was once a sprawling dairy farm now grows some of New Zealand’s most coveted grapes. Located in the Nelson region of New Zealand the Middle-Earth vineyard expresses the fresh character of the area. The wines reflect the many hours of sunshine and the cool, clear days of autumn that provide a slow ripening period, retaining the vibrant varietal flavors that make the Nelson wines so distinctive. Flavors of lime, tangerine and fresh herbs. Aromas of honey suckle and gooseberry crumble. Lovely mouth-filling texture with gentle tropical overtones and a juicy persistent finish. Middle-Earth’s ‘zing’ is a delightful complement to fresh herbs, green vegetables, seafood, goat cheese, or simply enjoy as a refreshing aperitif.
Domaine Pral Beaujolais Blanc - This very rare Beaujolais Blanc is made from 100% Chardonnay, hand harvested and aged in stainless steel tanks, on the lees. Aromas of white flower, apple, and exotic fruits are followed by a round, silky mouth-feel, and a medium-bodied, slightly toasty finish, reminiscent of fine champagne, sans the ‘sparkles’.
Domaine Chateaumar Perles de Rose - 90% Grenache, & 10% Mourvedre. A limited Rose release from the 11th century estate run by father and son team; Jean-Felix and Frederic Souret. Aromas of rose petals, strawberries, peaches, and raspberries. On the palate, you’ll find round fruit and tannins, with a smidge of ripeness, healthy minerality and a fresh lingering finish. Pair with “pink” seafood (shrimp, crab) or with fish or light meats off the BBQ.
Middle-Earth Pinot Meunier Rose - Composed of primarily Pinot Meunier, with a healthy dose of Pinot Noir. Pretty aromas of crushed summer berries, followed by a silky palate brimming with juicy red currants and pomegranate. With a kiss of sweetness and a pinch of spice, this Rose has a finely balanced finish and is a treat for patio sipping.
Mi Terruño Uvas Bonarda - From vines planted over 45 years ago comes this 100% Bonarda from Mendoza, Argentina. Mi Terruño, meaning “my terroir” or “my land”, is the brother-sister duo of Gabriel & Maria Eugenia Biagorria. Their Bonarda is a delight to enjoy year round with its flavors of juicy boysenberry, fig paste, and milk chocolate, interlaced with notes of allspice and cola. Smooth with balanced acidity, notes of cranberry, pomegranate and roasted coffee lead to supple tannins on a pleasing finish.
1808 Valcavada Rioja - Tempranillo 100%. Wild yeast fermentation, aged in American oak barrels during 6 months, followed by 3 months in bottle. Intense aromas of red fruit (blueberry & blackberry) that are joined by the floral freshness of lavender. Hints of vanilla and coffee, with a very fresh balanced acidity touch. Soft yet true tannins make for a long finish with touch of fruit. The winery is named 1808 after the year in the "Peninsula War" when Napoleon's forces turned on Spain after invading Portugal. The winery’s family has been in Laguardia region of Rioja for many generations – so their winery is dedicated to the era.
Kiona Vineyard Estates Cuvee - Estates Cuvée is a blend from across the family’s vineyards in Columbia Valley and Red Mountain in Washington State. Each vineyard site contributes to the wine in a special way, resulting in a wine that is uniquely representative of Washington state. The Columbia Valley components bring acid, fruit, and drinkability, while the Red Mountain additions contribute depth, structure, and color. This nuanced, multi-faceted, Cabernet-dominant food-pairing superstar shows that Washington wines pack a serious punch at every price point.
Domaine Pral Morgon Cru Beaujolais - Gamay from 30 to 40 year old vines growing on granite soils on hillside vineyards facing Southeast. Hand harvested and aged in older French demi-muid barrels for 8 months. Aromas of black preserves, bacon, and wild game with hints of cardamom and black pepper. Stimulating on the palate with a peppery pungency, tart berry skin and toasted hickory. Pair this beauty with roasted poultry, glazed ham or chocolate desserts.
Domaine Chateaumar Chateuneuf-du-Pape - The Castel Mar (Chateaumar) estate has run for generations without any pesticides or herbicides. The estate is located 9 km from Orange, in the heart of the AOP Cotes du Rhone. The vineyards include 25 acres in Cotes du Rhone, on stony clay-limestone soils, and 12 acres in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The soil of this prestigious appellation is red clay and large round cobbles. Farming is fully sustainable. The soil is turned several times during the year which allows the vines to draw a wonderful energy from deep down to create beautifully formed grapes. Once matured the grapes are hand-harvested, selected, and sorted. Composed of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre this CdP delivers a rich and robust structure, elegant yet ripe tannins and a long persistent finish. Pair with red meats and your heartiest dishes. Enjoy over the next 8 years.
Midnight Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon - Midnight Cellars was the 29th established winery in Paso Robles, CA, an area known for warm days and cool maritime influenced nights, making it a prime growing location. The Midnight vineyard is planted on hillside and hilltop in shale and limestone-rich soil. The southwest sloping hills face the Pacific Ocean, enjoying a temperature swing of 40-50 degrees from daytime to nighttime. Midnight Cabernet gives a full mouthfeel with firm structure. Flavors of ripe black fruit, dried earth and minerals abound. The long finish is framed with spice, leather, black cherry and plum. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon & 10% Merlot
Victor Hugo Winery Petite Sirah - Located in the Templeton Gap region of Paso Robles, CA are 78 acres of vines owned by Vic Hugo Roberts and his wife, Leslie. Production is limited to maximize quality and detail in all aspects of the process. Victor Hugo Winery is family owned and operated, with a commitment to sustainable farming practices. The winery specializes in hand-crafted lots of wine that age gracefully.
Victor Hugo Petite Sirah has a delightful aroma profile best described as “spice rack” meets ripe plums. Fresh ground black pepper, bay leaf and clove predominate with rich plum notes in the background. This Petite Sirah is a mouthful with an elegant sufficiency of tannins and toasty oak followed by an extended, rich finish. While very tasty today, this intense Petite Sirah will continue to improve with proper cellaring for another 5-10 years in the bottle with a plateau of best drinkability from 2024-2029. Best matched with rare beef and your most spicy fare! Rich, red, sauces, Cajun, and heavy continental dishes of all types are enhanced with this concentrated Petite Sirah.
