UPCOMING WINE TASTINGS:
Lolea Gold Sangria - This is a fruity but dry white sangria made from Macabeo and Airen. Lightly sparkling with infused flavors of apple and elderberry flower. Mild and refreshing.
Piccini Pinot Grigio - Sourced from the Veneto, this is a 100% Pinot Grigio that is a delicious value. Layered with apple and peach it shows crisp acidity and minarality. A guaranteed crowd pleaser for the Holidays.
Catena Chardonnay - A short story with a long finish. If you like Chard, you will love this! "Aromas of sliced apple and lemon follow through to a full body, with creamy texture with stone and white peach too. Subtle and flavorful" rated 92pts JS
Piccini Chianti - Like the Pinot Grigio, this too is a great value when the masses converge for holiday celebrations. Blended from 90% Sangiovese 5% Canaiolo 5% Ciliegiolo, this DOCG is laden with cherry, spice and soft tannins.
Drew "Fog Eater" Pinot Noir -This wine is practically enchanting with its myriad aromas, lively texture, layers of intricate fruit, and spice and woodsy flavors. It offers tones of tart red cherry, rhubarb and cranberry, with enough body and richness to nicely balance those lean characteristics. 95pts Editors choice WE
Castano Hecula Monestrell - This Monestrell is laced with cherry fruit and aromas of licorice and spice. There is an elegant woodiness from six months barrel aging that helps to balance the fruitiness.
Cap Royal Bordeaux Superior - A gem made by the Director Of Chateau Pichon Baron (2nd Growth). Blended of 70% Merlot and 30% Cab, and aged 6 months in oak. This is as good as entry level Bordeaux can be. You will be pleased you tried it!
Motto Cabernet Sauvignon - A California wine made in a Washington style. Reid Klei of Columbia Crest makes this wine in Cali. Dense with red fruit, and "backbone," but still easy on the palate. Lightly oaked and ready for all occasions.
Catena Tinto "DV Historico" - The blend was tweaked this year by adding Bonarda. This is homage to Domingo Vincente Catena, Laura Catena's grandfather, who was famous for his red blends in the steak houses of Buenos Aires. Primarily Malbec with Bonarda and petite Verdot to round it out. A big wine tamed by 14 months in oak. 91 points Parker
Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon - Opening with an aromatic riot of blackberry jam, a touch of herb, spice, and coffee. The wine is full-bodied, expanding mid-palate with a dense core of black fruit, black cherries, and cacao beans; the finish lingers with a perfume of dried raspberries and rose water. The distinctive tannic structure of mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot hints at the aging potential of this wine.
Lolea Organic Sangria - The new comer to the Lolea line up. This is 100% organic Garnacha finished with pure cane sugar. This sangria is balanced with lemon and cardamom and is slightly frizzante. Serve over ice or create a cocktail.
