First Wine Tasting of Fall! - The Weekly Grind 2017

Happy National Coffee Day everyone! TODAY ONLY, we're doing a 10% discount off all coffee, both in-store and online! Use the code NATIONALCOFFEEDAY at checkout! That's not the only exciting news either. We have events galore this weekend, so here's the rundown of everything you need to know.

This Week at Armeno...

This past Thursday, Armeno was a proud vendor and supporter of the March of Dimes' Signature Chef's Auction in Worcester, which not only had phenomenal food, but raised money for the fight to save babies. Founded by FDR as an organization focused on treating and fighting to end polio, the March of Dimes has since evolved to focus on promoting healthy prenatal care, preventing harmful birth defects, and reducing infant mortality across the country.

First Fall Wine Tasting!

That's right, it's time! Join us tomorrow, September 30th from 1-4PM to kick-off our first wine tasting of the season! Cheese and crackers? Check. Savory chocolate samples from Anna Banana's Homemade Goodness? Also check. And of course, Heather from Gilbert Wines will be pouring an assortment of wines, the full list of which you can check out here. We're also offering the usual wine tasting discounts: 10% off all wine, 15% off 6+ bottles, and 20% off 12 or more!

As always, this event is free, so we hope to see you there!

Armeno Coffee Brunch & Coffee Tasting:

The annual Armeno Coffee Brunch at Armsby Abbey in Worcester is this Saturday, September 30th and Sunday, October 1st! As you might imagine, this event is a combination of three of the best possible things: Armsby Abbey (see: delicious food, craft beer & cocktails, etc), our coffee, and brunch. What's not to be excited about? Click here to see the event's page on Armsby's website for more info, and give them a call to grab a reservation while you can.

Also this Sunday, October 1st, Chuck will be back at Zayde's Market in Canton, MA for a hot coffee tasting from 10AM-1PM. Stop in, grab some samples, and say hello!

This Week’s Toasty Tidbit:

Did you know that coffee has over 1,500 aromatic and flavor compounds? For reference, wine only has 200! Of course, the language of coffee wasn't always this complex. It wasn't until the early twentieth century that the idea of coffee cupping began to take root, and it wasn't until the end of the twentieth century that Ted Lingle's book, The Coffee Cupper's Handbook, and Professor Ann Noble's 'Coffee Taster's Flavor Wheel' created an industry standard for assessing the many delicious subtleties of coffee.
